WHERE ARE WE?
We meet regularly on Mondays (but not the 1st Monday of the month or bank holidays) at the Oxford Action Resource Centre (OARC), upstairs in the East Oxford Community Centre on the corner of Cowley Road and Princes Street, Oxford, OX4 1DD.
Important Note: OARC is upstairs, and there is no lift or ramp access at the East Oxford Community Centre. We are sorry about this, but it is out of our hands. If this could be an issue, please email us and we'll do our best to work something out.
NB: From time to time there are rare occasions when practices are cancelled. If you're planning to join us, please get in touch with us first as we wouldn't want you to make an unnecessary trip if we're not there.
Getting Here
Walking or cycling from the centre of Oxford
OARC is situated upstairs at the East Oxford Community Centre on Cowley Road in Oxford, about one miles outside the city centre. It is within easy cycling and walking distance from the centre of town, and plenty of buses pass close by.
Walking or cycling from the centre of Oxford
Starting from Carfax, head down the High Street, going over Magdalene Bridge on to The Plain. Take the middle exit on the roundabout to take you up Cowley Road. East Oxford Community Centre is the big red brick building on the left, on the junction of Cowley Road and Princes Street just before The Corridor bar. This should take about 15-20 mins at normal ambling speed.

Stagecoach: 1, 10, U10, 12, 12A, 12B, 12C
Both run between the Railway Station via Queen St and Templars Square to Blackbird Leys.
If you're unsure where to get off, simply ask the driver to drop you at the stop nearest Princes Street.
Please note: there is no car parking at the East Oxford Community Centre. There are a small number of spaces on Cowley Road after 6:30 pm if you're lucky, and there is a pay and display car park behind Tesco just up the road.
From Summertown
Head towards the city centre on Banbury Road. Turn left into Parks Road. Turn left on to South Parks Road. Keep follow this road round (as it becomes St. Cross Road and Longwall Street). Turn left on to the High Street. At The Plain, take the middle exit on to Cowley Road. The East Oxford Community Centre is on your left.
From Botley
Get on to the A34 and go south. Come off at the Hinksey Hill interchange. Follow the directions below.
Alternatively, head into the city centre via Botley Road. Continue straight on, past the Railway station and into Hythe Bridge Street, then following the road round and past the Ashmolean Museum. Turn left into St Giles then take the right hand fork on to Banbury Road. Turn right into Parks Road then follow the rest of the directions above, going via South Parks Road and The Plain.
From the A34, north or south (e.g. from Didcot, Bicester, Abingdon, Newbury)
Leave the A34 at the Hinksey Hill interchange. This is the first main Oxford turn-off if you are coming from the south (signposted Ring Road, Oxford A4144), and the third if you are coming from the north (signposted Ring Road, Reading A4074).
At the roundabout at the top of the slip-road, turn on to the A423 (signposted Ring Road, Reading). This is the first exit if you're coming from the north, or the third exit if you're coming from the south.
At the next roundabout, continue on the ring road (second exit - signposted Ring Road, London, Reading).
Carry on the ring road, across the next roundabout (1st exit - signposted London, Wycombe).
At the next roundabout, continue on the ring road (second exit - signposted Ring Road)
Take the slip road off the Ring Road (just past the bridge over the road and just before the Mini factory). At the roundabout (with the Beefeater pub), turn left (signposted Cowley). Carry straight on over the next roundabout, and straight across both sets of traffic lights. This will put you on Cowley Road. Keep going down here until you get to the shopping area. Keep going through here. The East Oxford Community Centre is on your right.
If you reach the big roundabout on The Plain, you've come too far!
From the M40
- From the north
Come off the M40 at Junction 9 (Wendlebury interchange). Take the A34 southbound (signposted Oxford). Follow the directions above from the A34.
- From the south
Leave the M40 at Junction 8 and join the A40 (signposted Oxford). Keep on this past the Park and Ride until you reach the big Headington roundabout.
At the Headington Roundabout, take
the first exit on to the Ring Road (A4142 -signposted Cowley/
Come off the Ring Road at the Cowley
junction (take the big slip road just past the BMW/ Mini factory - signposted
Oxford Business Park/
Carry straight on over the next roundabout, and straight across both sets of traffic lights. This will put you on Cowley Road. Keep going down here until you get to the shopping area. Keep going through here. The East Oxford Community Centre is on your right.
